Roughly monthly, we take the 9.27am train from Ashtead up to different areas of London. Our group of about 12 to 15 explore a small area of London with a walk of some 4 miles or shorter, but taking it slowly to look around and appreciate the sights, the history, the architecture, famous residents past and present, and any unusual corners or oddities that even those who have been regular commuters might have missed. The group leader will have done their research and route planning so as to act as an informative guide for the party. We include a coffee stop and lunch stop and will sometimes fit in a short visit to a particular attraction such as a church, garden or exhibition. Recent walks have included. Fitzrovia, Deptford, Kings Cross and Wimbledon.
