First of all, thank you for being a Group Leader in Ashtead u3a! Ideally, this role should rotate around your Group, to spread the responsibility of Leading. Having said that, many groups operate by consensus, with Group Members contributing ideas for activities, selecting topics and leading discussions, leaving the Group Leaders role mostly one of chief communicator, making sure everyone knows the "when, where and what" of meetings.
There are a few other jobs you need to do:
- Once a year, make sure all your group members are paid-up members of Ashtead u3a or another local group
- Submit the appropriate Risk Assessment form to the Groups Coordinator. Forms can be downloaded by clicking the buttons below.
- Now and again, check the information given on your Group web page to make sure it's up to date. Photos add interest to Group pages - if you have any of your Group activities, send them, and any info updates, to the Web Manager, who will make any changes.
- And once or twice a year, there is a special social event just for group leaders, with refreshments!
